Sold

Willa

Raised in the wild this little  faerie child spooks easily.  Wide eyed and skittish, tiny Willa feels at home in dark corners, huddled in the foliage until the coast is clear, heart thumping wildly.  Timid as a mouse, she takes only what she can carry, and only what she needs.

Sold

Sujan

Sujan is a serene elf, living the simple life as the years drift by, maintaining the health of precious defenseless creatures as they develop, a faerie doctor of sorts.  Today he inspects some tiny winged creature eggs... his work isn't exciting, but a serious job.  Work he enjoys because it distances him from the rowdier more raucous faerie folk, whom he'd rather avoid.

Sold

Matthias

Matthias is a real sweetie, he's a kind a gentle soul, not to fond of the dark though (active imagination).  A scribe in the elvish library, he spends countless hours in the scriptorium both chronicling and and researching years gone by.  The stories he could tell...

This guy is about 11 inches tall, his hands feet and face are sculpted in polymer clay.  This doll is free standing and holds a real working candle, and is SO fun when his candle is lit!

Sold

Haman

I have always had a love for wrinkles... and it came out with Haman.  The quintessential leathery old man, I chuckled to myself throughout his entire creation. He is another entirely hand crafted "Spoon Doll TM", his face and ears made up of  polymer clay, his hand stitched cap is soft leather and he has just a splash of mohair applied on his nobly old cranium.  He is a poseable doll/puppet and his knarled and hard worked old fingers are sculpted from polymer clay.  I also have  WIP1  and WIP2 pictures which show better face detail.

Sold

General

The General is one of my "Spoon Dolls TM" gone awry.  His face, hands and feet were hand sculpted from polymer clay,, his helmet was an actual tortoise shell, and his hair is mohair.  I get a real kick out of the expressions that come out of the clay... I've just turned 30, so I guess this little dude helped me express how I feel about that!  The General was sold via EBAY, and now resides in North Carolina!

I had many pics of this guy click here  General's Gallery

Sold

Sticks

Sticks was developed base on the inspiring art of a particular fantasy illustrator whom I have adored since I was a young girl.   Sticks is a hand sculpted multimedia art doll, which basically breaks down as follows: His face,  ears and neck were sculpted from polymer clay, he has black glass eyes and assorted green glass beads,  His base is a wooden spoon, and the back of his head is sculpted soft foam under his hand stitched leather cap.  His hair is polyester (no open flames please!) and he was finally mounted on a treated brass base.  He was sold to a private collector via EBAY.

Sold

Ordwell

Ordwell was an enormous amount of fun, and hopefully his docile nature comes through!  He was the brainchild of my husband, utilizing the tortoise shell *no tortoise were injured in the making of this doll.*  We have a fellow here in our area who sells shells such as Ordwells' and thought it might be an interesting addition to my work.  I have been trying to incorporate natural materials ~although some may object...

Ordwell is a one of a kind

Sold

Fawn

Fawn was a real joy to create, despite the fact that she is the result of numerous error on my part!  In several of my pieces I start off with a vague idea of what they may or may not look like, in this case fawn took the wheel from the get go.  The coloring of her skin, the expression on her face, even the style of her dress were all dictated by this doll.  It was indeed a sculptors form of 'automatic writing' and I truly feel awkward taking credit for her creation *chuckle.*  I was just a pair of hands!  Fawn is a "Spoon Doll TM" of the puppet variety (no legs).

Fawn has one WIP pic and two large final pics Fawn1 & Fawn2

Sold

Hildi

What a beauty! I think Hidli may very well be my favorite if only because of her 'hand feet.'  But she really was so delightful to create, her hair is a very interesting feather.  Her dainty little tutu seemed just the right touch!  Hildi stands 13 inches tall (to the top of her hat) and is free standing.  Hildi is a One of a Kind "Spoon Doll TM", and is a private collection.

PW

(pussywillow)

PW is a free standing art doll, with hand sculpted kitty cat features (even whiskers!).  He's a squirrelly little thing, but was a fun project.  He stands about 10 inches tall and is dressed in hand made clothing.  This doll was a One of a Kind (OOAK) and sold to a private collector via eBay.  PW is a "Spoon Doll TM"

Sold

Ivy

Ivy is a multimedia art doll, her lovely face is sculpted by hand from polymer clay, over a fabulous weather worn branch found whilst romping through the forest on the edge of our property.  She is slightly overgrown with everlasting silk flowers and springy poseable grape vines. Her eyes are coyote and has a spray of freckles on her charming face.  She was sold via EBAY.

WIP pictures are also available for this doll, just for fun!

Sold

Old Sap

Old Sap and his little great great grand-sapling are sharing a moment together reminiscing days of yore, leafing through their "family tree."  These figures are hand sculpted in polymer clay, Old Sap is 12 inches tall.   I've included several pics from many different stages of development.  Click on the image to go to Old Sap's Gallery

Sold

Hidden

Hidden was an inspired piece, when I saw this lovely piece of wood, I knew JUST what I wanted to do with it!  The wood was 18 inches long, and had been kiln dried and sandblasted smooth.  Hidden had  lovely flowing blonde hair and black glass eyes.  Her hair was decorated with real dried flowers.  Her body was sculpted in polymer clay with just a splash of  color to bring her to life.  This was a wall hanging.

Sold

Fiddlesticks

Fiddlestick is a multimedia art doll, his hands, feet and face are sculpted (by hand) in polymer clay, over armature wire.  His arms and legs are poseable and he is freestanding.  His clothes are hand made and his hat is a miniature copper pot.  His shiny black eyes are glass and his hair is polyester.  Fiddlesticks is house broken.

Found home!

Florous

Florous was one of my earliest "spoondolls"...  She was an astounding 18 inches tall and was completely disguised from her meager beginning as a wooden spoon.  Her face and large elvish ears were sculpted from polymer clay and she was lightly dusted with color to give her a lifelike glow.  She was adorned with silk flowers and was bought by a private collector via EBAY.  She has black glass eyes and eyelashes, and lovely flowing chestnut hair.  I also have WIP pictures which show better face detail.

Sold

Frostbite

Frostbite was a piece specifically developed for the "Winter Gala" theme for the opening of the "Enchanted Artworks" Gallery. This piece was hand sculpted in polymer clay, and created with lifelike  'Masterpiece Eyes.'  His hair is maribou feather, and his clothes are hand tailored especially for him!  Frostbite's scepter is a glass ornament and he is lightly decorated with snow.  Frostbite is a "Spoon Doll TM"

Sold

Jack

Jack is a curious creature, he is a One of a Kind Art Doll/Figurine sculpted in polymer clay.  8 1/2 inches tall (squatting) he cradles a tiny dragon in his palm.  This doll is a true Studio Willich piece as he was sculpted by Jill Willich and hand painted in acrylics by Adam Willich as their first collaborative doll.  Jack was sold via Ebay.

Sold

SpoonHilda

This is where is all began... My very first spoondoll, she was not widely received, but I love her none the less!  Her face and hands lovingly sculpted  from polymer clay, with hand blown glass eyes, Spoon Hilda is the epitome of simplicity.  She doesn't need any fancy hair-do or flashy makeup, she has put in her time and now enjoys life to the fullest.  She is a simple Spoon, as I've said, and she keeps me company in my studio, excited and grinning no matter how mundane the project may be!

Why Grandma!

Alas, an oldie but goodie... How could I call myself a fantasy artist with out at least one fairytale critter under my belt?  This hairy beast was quite labor intensive, but I was happy with the results, this wolf is a hand sculpted "Spoon Doll TM" sculpted in polymer clay (over a wooden spoon) with taxidermist glass wolf eyes.   He is hand painted with acrylics and dressed in modified prefabricated clothing.  He is poseable and his body is soft sculpted foam.

A WIP picture is available, and in this case rather informative. And there is also an Alternative Final Pic if you click on the highlighted terms.
