"PURE SCULPT"

For those who are unaware, there is a new movement of artists who have decided that polymer clay dolls made from a press molds are one of a kind.

As a result of this development I feel it is important to emphasize the the dolls I create are NOT from molds of any kind.  Those of us who are agreed in the importance of distinguishing the incredible difference between artists who create from scratch and those who use molds have adopted the term "PURE SCULPT" (PS) to add to our auctions to avoid any confusion.

PURE SCULPT is defined as follows:

PURE SCULPT (PS) : a work that has been sculpted in such a way that the clay medium alone is 100% purely sculpted without the use of molds at any stage of the creative process.

There are those who have chosen to feel offended by this harmless term, or to take the movement as a personal attack.  However, the intent is strictly to inform the buyer of the great deal of work that is  poured into our Original ONE OF A KIND creations as they are created from scratch.  This term is not political, our goal is simply to educate the viewer as to our work methods.

**Personally I do not have any issues with those who chose to utilize molds in their work.  As a freelance sculptor in the collectibles industry I'm more than acquainted with mass production.  However, I DO think is is important to accentuate the difference.**

When you purchase a doll from my studio, you have my personal guarantee the piece is entirely hand made from start to finish.  There is only one.  When the doll arrives at your home you have the only copy of it, there is no mold, casting or anything of the sort anywhere else.  Thus the term ONE of a kind.
