All faeries and

PURE SCULPTS

Autumn was a pretty fun piece for
me, it's been a long time since I had the opportunity to work in a hard
polymer clay (seems many of the shipments I've used have been really soft).
Also I've really been enjoying using Magic Sculpt with my polymer pieces...
it's just so strong it really opens the possibilities sculpturally speaking.
I'm delighted with the results. She's a dainty little fae, with a
sassy attitude... you may be bigger, but she's not even remotely intimidated
by you!

I've always wanted to
do a centaur but been a little leery of how disastrous the result
might be. Actually I was very pleased with how this one turned out!
Buttercup is my version of the "All American" Centaur, and actually I think
she won't be the last I make, it was just too enjoyable. This figure
is just under 5 1/2 inches tall.

Orville was inspired
by the idea of flight, believe it or not, many of my faeries seem to just
have wings as a formality... guys like Orville really know how to use
'em! Goggles at the ready this little guy is prepared for high
altitudes and fast flying! Orville is 2 3/4 inches in his squatting
position. Sold |

Oh dear Henry!
This piece was really close to my heart. Dear clueless little
carpenter, with his miniature hammer and nails prepares to "fix the hole in
the bucket." Inspired from a childhood favorite (folk song) 'There's a
hole in the bucket' in which Henry and Liza banter back and forth on how one
can fix such a thing, I literally hummed and sang throughout his entire
creation! Henry
is 3 1/2 inches seated on his oversized cork. His hammer and nails
were real miniature tools (metal and wood) and his wooden bucket came
supplied with ... a hole! Sold |

Saul
is a jolly old fellow, a looker in his own way, and a wonderful companion.
I don't think I've ever had such a smooth time with creation as I did with
this fellow, he nearly created himself! He is 4 1/2 inches tall with
out his cute little base, he sat on an ionic column quite merrily, but would
have been just as pleased to plop down on nearly any shelf or ledge.

Simion,
like Saul is an easy going faerie, but today he's thrilled because he's
found a real prize! Simion, like so many of this relatives here in
this gallery, is sculpted in polymer clay. This figure sits at 3
inches tall, and is accessorized with a loose fitting loin cloth and a tiny
cap, with a single inset faux ruby.

Standing a
whopping 4 1/2 inches tall, Shim may not look like a threat but he is
very capable of holding his own. Shim was designed as a guard
in the Faewee Forces. He's a pleasant enough fellow, who'd rather chat
with you than actually have to shout out the expected "state you name and
business' nonsense. He has been spied occasionally humming and swaying
while on duty (when he thinks no one is watching).

Flint is the
Official #1 of my Faewee series, personally I think he's the cutest I've
done. A real sweetheart, he sits a whopping 3 inches tall. The
concept behind the 'Faewee' is they are a people who although magical by
nature have chosen to lead lives using magic sparingly. The FMCC
(Faerie Magic Conservation Council) is made up of a large number of
conscientious (although simple minded ) faerie folk who believe they are
making a difference!

Chance is a
member of the Faewee society, although not one of their most trustworthy
members. He's known as a trickster, and though he is a part of
the tribe known for magic conservation he's notorious for using his to dupe
his subjects! Don't be fooled by his sweet demeanor!
Chance is a polymer creation,
and he stands 3 3/4 inches tall. He is a One Of A Kind.

Giggles is a
fun fellow who sits atop a custom sculpted mushroom as he's gently tickled
by his little friend "Squeak." Giggles is the #3 in the Faewee series,
and I guess Squeak could be considered an honorary 3 1/2. Squeak is
permanently attached to the base (which is sculpted in Magic Sculpt).
This piece
is 7 1/4 inches tall.

Minia is a real sweetie, tiny and
serene, she sits pensively contemplating her future. The #4 in the
Faewee series, and by far the smallest at just under 2 inches (seated) this
little one stole my heart!
Minia is a one of a kind

Charming little Zip
is the first speckled little faewee, also he is the first with a new (for
me) kind of wing. His wings are a clear flexible polymer, which
actually I couldn't stop playing with! This little guy is 3 inches
tall in his squatting position. Zip is an official 'Faewee' letter
carrier, a faerie on the GO GO.

"Widdol" is the first
StudioWillich baby and the whole faewee community is all abuzz with her
arrival! This tiny little princess is sculpted in polymer clay from
her headband down to her tiny toes. Her wings are "new" and are soft
to the touch, and rubbery. This little one had been dusted with just a
dash of pixie dust which gave her the sparkle of the newly born. At
just barely 3 inches long this is truly a "Widdol Faewee."

Darling little Polly
Wog sleeps sweetly with her little stuffed seahorse in the warm summer sun.
Snuggled into a water lily you can tell this little mermaid is having sweet
dreams! Polly (and pink pony) is sculpted in assorted polymer clays,
both tinted and flesh, and is hand painted with shimmering blues and greens.
Polly is 3 inches long from pigtail to fin tip.

Hidden
was an inspired piece, when I saw this lovely piece of wood, I knew JUST
what I wanted to do with it! The wood was 18 inches long, and had been
kiln dried and sandblasted smooth. Hidden had lovely flowing
blonde hair and black glass eyes. Her hair was decorated with real
dried flowers. Her body was sculpted in polymer clay with just a
splash of color to bring her to life. This was a wall hanging.

Tippy Toe was a
very long project, only. I
really only wanted to experiment with the hand made flowers instead of hair.
She is hand sculpted in polymer clay (over armature) and hand painted in
acrylics. Her eyes are black glass and she has 'real eyelashes.'
I did get a real kick out of her pose, but she was very "springy" while
sculpting *chuckle*

Laughlin was a
practice in conveying emotion... she has gotten varied responses ranging
from "scary" to " adorable." I suppose it depends on the tastes of the
viewer, but I really enjoyed creating her. She is entirely "dressed in
flowers" and is a staggering 3 1/2 inches tall. Laughlin has inset
high gloss (plastic) doll eyes and real (or as real as 3D anyhow) eyelashes!
And she has great teeth to boot! Funky kitchen

The very first in
a planned faerie series called
Blackwood faeries... Thyme was sold to a private collector in Austria,
she was a lovely little fae with hand painted eyes and leather attire.
She was a Blackwood Faerie Scout (a watcher in the wood) entirely sculpted
by hand, an original sculpture and a delight to create. I do have 2
work in progress pics of her you can see by clicking either on
WIP1 or
WIP2.
