The Duchess and the Pig

Certainly not one of Lewis Carroll's more loveable creations, the Duchess one I find most interesting, as early in the story she is rather cross and harsh with her son (whom she lovingly refers to as "pig") but later becomes a doting confidant to Alice during croquet.  I really had fun with this piece trying to blend both personalities, and play with clothing ideas.

This Art Doll is 5 1/2 inches tall, both faces and hands are sculpted in polymer clay, the materials in general are clay, wood, Aves, foam and fabric.  All the clothing is hand made and attached permanently to the figures.  As with all my pieces this figure is created entirely from scratch and will NOT be duplicated.
